At NCDEX Jeera November contract is trading at Rs.14900 per quintal, lower by 0.47 per cent on 11.55 AM against the previou close.
In the morning session the contract traded at a range of Rs.14876-14938 per quintal. Open interest of the contract is 2388 lots for the time being.
Sowing of Jeera has commenced in some parts of Gujarat due to adequate soil moisture. According to Spices Board of India, exports of Jeera during April 2011- August 2011 stood at 9,500 tonnes as compared to 15,700 tonnes in 2010-11, decline of 39%.
