अधिक यात्री कारों और तीन वाहन पेट्रोल के लिए सबसे अच्छा विकल्प चुनने के लिए, ऑटो एलपीजी ने इस वित् वर्ष अच्छी बिक्री देखी है। हालांकि, भारत ऑटो एलपीजी गठबंधन (आई ए सी) के अनुसार अप्रैल-दिसम्बर के दौरान ऑटो एलपीजी की खपत मे 2.4 लाख टन अधिक पर 34% की वृद्धि हुई। भारत में लगभग 7 लाख वाहन एल पी जी से चलते है, जिनमें से लगभग 1.5 लाख मे कारखाने द्वारा लगी हुई आती है जबकि बाकी सब मे गैस किट बाद मे लगवाई जाती है। एलपीजी कार के मॉडल मे मारुति 800, वैगन आर, ओमनी, हुंडई की सैंट्रो, एक्सेंट, जीएम शेवरलेट स्पार्क और टाटा इंडिका क्सेता शामिल है। अन्य जैसे फिएट और स्कोडा भी इस श्रेणी के साथ जाने की योजना बना रहे है। बजाज ऑटो भी अपने प्लेटिना मोटर साइकिल की श्रेणी के साथ अपनी तीन पहिया मे एल पी जी विकल्प प्रदान कर रहा है।

Due to more passenger cars and three-wheelers opting for it as the best alternative to petrol, auto LPG has seen good sales this fiscal. However, consumption of auto LPG grew by 34% at over 2.4 lakh tonnes during April-December as per the India Auto LPG Coalition (IAC). Around 7 lakh vehicles in India run on LPG, out of which around 1.5 lakh have factory-fitted kits while the rest have retrofitted gas kits. The LPG car models include Maruti''s 800, Wagon R, Omni, Hyundai''s Santro, Accent, GM''s Chevrolet Spark and Tata''s Indica Xeta. Others such as Fiat and Skoda plan to follow suit. Bajaj Auto also offers LPG options in its three-wheeler range along with its Platina motorcycle.
